WeShall Investments Celebrates Broadway Opening as Co-Producer of Beaches: A New Musical
December 22, 2025
WeShall Investments Inc. is proud to mark a major milestone as Beaches: A New Musical prepares to open on Broadway in March 2026 at the historic Majestic Theatre in New York City. WeShall has been a co-producer on the production since its earliest stages, supporting the show’s journey from development through to its Broadway debut.
From the beginning, WeShall Investments recognized Beaches as a rare and meaningful story, one with the emotional depth, cultural resonance, and creative ambition required to succeed on one of the world’s most competitive stages. The Broadway opening represents the culmination of years of collaboration, conviction, and long-term belief in the creative vision behind the production.
“It was clear to me this show was destined for a special run,” said Brentyn Hall, Director of Operations at WeShall Investments, who attended the VIP opening night in Calgary in 2024. “Reaching Broadway is a remarkable milestone and feels like it’s only the beginning for our special group behind the production.”
WeShall Investments’ partner, Next Table Entertainment & Media, is a women-founded and women-led production company focused on creating impactful, multi-platform stories across television, film, theatre, books, and music. The company is committed to building a bigger table for underrepresented voices while producing world-class content with broad, universal appeal.
This investment accelerates WeShall Investments’ expansion within the global entertainment industry, building on its initial entry and pushing further beyond professional services, hospitality, sports, and industrials into culture-shaping narratives and globally influential storytelling.
Broadway remains one of the most selective and competitive entertainment markets in the world. With only 41 active Broadway theatres and thousands of productions vying for limited slots each year, fewer than 1% of new shows successfully secure a Broadway opening. Achieving this milestone is widely regarded as one of the most difficult accomplishments in the performing arts industry. The Broadway premiere of Beaches represents a rare and significant milestone, not only for the creative team, but for investors aligned early with the vision.
At WeShall, there is a long-standing belief that capital, when deployed with intention, can influence culture, elevate underrepresented voices, and generate long-term value beyond traditional balance sheets.
“We are intentional about where we deploy capital,” said Wes Hall, Founder and Executive Chairman of WeShall Investments. “The entertainment industry remains one of the most influential yet under-represented spaces for women-led leadership and diverse storytelling. This investment reflects our belief that excellence, representation, and commercial success are not mutually exclusive. WeShall is proud to support a team that is redefining what’s possible on Broadway and beyond.”
Becoming a Broadway Co-Producer within such a short timeframe is uncommon; productions take a decade or more to reach this stage. This milestone underscores both the strength of Next Table’s leadership and WeShall’s long-term, conviction-driven investment approach.
Beaches: A New Musical is based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Iris Rainer Dart, later adapted into the iconic film starring Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey. The stage production tells the powerful story of lifelong friendship between Cee Cee and Bertie, capturing resilience, ambition, vulnerability, and the enduring strength of human connection. The musical features a score by Grammy Award-winning legend Mike Stoller, lyrics by Iris Rainer Dart, and a book by Iris Rainer Dart and Thom Thomas.
The Broadway production will be co-directed by Lonny Price (Tony Award nominee, Emmy Award winner) and Matt Cowart, and stars Jessica Vosk and Kelli Barrett in the leading roles. Following its Broadway run, Beaches will launch a multi-city National Tour, with additional cast and tour dates to be announced.
Tickets for Beaches: A New Musical go on sale in January 2026.
