Wes Hall Awarded the Order of Distinction (Commander) by the Government of Jamaica.
Toronto, Canada — August 2026 — WeShall Investments is proud to celebrate Executive Chairman and Founder Wes Hall, who has been awarded the Order of Distinction in the Rank of Commander, one of Jamaica’s highest national honours, in recognition of his contributions to nation building in Jamaica and Canada through philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and community leadership.
Throughout his career, Wes has combined business leadership with an unwavering commitment to expanding opportunity. Alongside building Kingsdale Advisors into Canada’s most preeminent shareholder advisory firm. He founded WeShall Investments, became the first Black Chancellor in the University of Toronto’s 200-year history, and launched the BlackNorth Initiative to address systemic anti-Black barriers in corporate Canada.

A belief that where I started was not where I was going to finish. I have not and will never forget where I came from. His philanthropic efforts have supported healthcare, education, economic opportunity, and community development across Canada and the Caribbean. He has been a major supporter of the SickKids Caribbean Initiative, motivated by the stark reality that survival rates for children with cancer in the Caribbean remain significantly lower than in Canada. He also mobilized more than $2.2 million in relief efforts following Hurricane Melissa, which devastated Jamaica in October 2025. His response has always been the same: when the island needs him, he shows up.
That same principle is at the foundation of WeShall Investments. Founded on the principle that talent is universal but access is not, WeShall helps BIPOC and underrepresented entrepreneurs access the capital, mentorship, and networks needed to scale their businesses. The Order of Distinction recognises Wes’s contributions to Jamaica and Canada, but it also reflects something larger: a lifetime of using success not as a destination but as a platform.
